Where is International Collection located?

International Collection is the export brand of specialty oils produced by AAK UK Ltd.  AAK sources oils from all over the world and these oils are processed and packed at their UK site. In addition to being sold all over the USA, International Collection is also sold around the globe in places such as Japan, China, Canada, Chile and Russia, making it, as the name suggests, a very global brand.

How are the oils made?

Oils are extracted from a source material and refined if necessary for the purpose.

What is the smoke point / flash point of the oil?

International Collection Grapeseed Oil - Smoke point - 392ºf, Flash point - 617ºf. International Collection Stir Fry oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Oil, Infused Oils, Flavored Oils, Dipping Oils and Almond Oil - Smoke point 302ºf, Flash point of 572ºf.

Why is my oil cloudy? What should I do?

The natural properties of some oils mean that they will become cloudy due to the content of saturated fats or naturally occurring waxes if the oils become cold.  These are safe to consume when cloudy. The cloudiness can be rectified by placing the bottle in a warm area or by standing the bottle in some warm water.

Is the sediment in my vinegar safe to consume?

Yes, that is a natural reaction within the vinegar and is therefore perfectly safe to consume.

How should I store my oils and specialty foods?

In general, oils should be stored in a cool dark place. It is not necessary to put oils in the fridge. Putting the oils in the fridge will not damage them; however will make some oils, like the olive oil, more difficult to use.

Are International Collection products suitable for a low salt diet?

All International Collection oils and vinegars are suitable for a low salt diet.

Are International Collection products suitable for a Nut Free diet?

Where nuts are used in an International Collection product, it is clearly labelled.

Does International Collection Hazelnut oil contain Palmitoleic acid?

International Collection Hazelnut Oil does not contain Palmitoleic acid.

Do International Collection products contain trans fats?

All products from International Collection are trans fat free.

Do International Collection products contain allergens?

Some oils (e.g. nut oils and Toasted Sesame Oil) contain allergenic materials. Please consult the list of ingredients on each bottle.

Do International Collection products contain additives?

There is a minimal use of additives in the IC products and these are only used where absolutely necessary. Where used, they will be declared in ingredients lists.

Are agricultural chemicals used?

The main chemicals that might be used during growing are pesticides and herbicides. We perform regular surveys of products to ensure residual amounts of such chemicals comply with current regulations for maximum residue limits.
