Make it DaVinci! For tonight's dinner bring Italy straight to your home with our DaVinci whole wheat pasta. This is the perfect way to enjoy a delicious pasta meal while eating healthy.

1 - 12 oz package DaVinci Whole Wheat Penne Rigate

1/2 pound bacon or pancetta

8 oz heavy cream

2 tablespoons of butter

2 tablespoons Romano or Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup beef broth (can use powdered or bullion cubes)

2 tablespoons cream sherry

Ground nutmeg (for garnish)

You can also substitute the cream sauce ingredients for your favorite jar of Alfredo sauce

  1. Heat water in large pot to cook pasta according to package instructions (add 1 tablespoon salt to water).

  2. Cut bacon or pancetta into small strips and grate cheese.

  3. Heat large skillet and add bacon or pancetta.

  4. Fry until medium crisp, remove from pan and pour out most of grease.

  5. Add butter, cream, cheese, beef broth and sherry to pan.

  6. Bring to a simmer, stir to avoid sticking.

  7. When thick add bacon or pancetta and cooked pasta. Mix well and serve, garnish with nutmeg and additional cheese.

  8. Note: some Carbonara dishes also add green peas, about 3/4 cup
